I have to go in to work at 4AM for a few hours, so I am going to try to take a nap, but so far I am failing.

And then, when I get off I have to decide if I should try to sleep for a few hours and be stuck not sleeping tomorrow night again and not get anything done on my days off OR stay up all day and  feel miserable and still probably not get anything done because I am too tired to care about anything.

See, I don’t think they’d necessarily be supportive of Emilie leaving (if she wanted to) like they were for Meghan simply because Red wasn’t involved in one of the big ships. And, imo, they write Belle for Rumbelle and not for Belle as a character on her own - Belle exists only for Rumple. The only way Emilie would get off the show was if Robert also left, or they kill of Belle because they wouldn’t just write her off with no way for her to return if Emilie wanted to work on a film or something.

If they were writing for Belle on her own - we would have seen her knock out Will, we would have seen her exploring the house, etc.

I definitely think they give storylines to Snow that could go to Belle (especially this mayor storyline since Belle was running the town and honestly Snow doesn’t need to be in a position of authority to be in charge - they’ve made is clear that people like and respect her and will basically follow her to their doom).

Oh I definitely agree they write Belle for Rumbelle. Belle herself isn’t a character they’ve ever been that interested in exploring.

I guess if they’re afraid she would immediately get another series, they’ll keep her. But she could easily have been demoted to guest star last season. They didn’t need her in the first 9 episodes at all and were having to create weird storylines to give her scenes.

That’s true. :/

I think part of her not being demoted is keeping her in contract because I’ve heard it said by multiple actors that shows basically own you and what you can work on while that show is filming whether you’re filming or not (AJ and Paget had this problem with Criminal Minds - they weren’t on the show but weren’t allowed to go out for anything else while still under contract). I think Kristen Bell said something like that too when people were talking about a Veronica Mars netflix series (since she’s on contract for House of Lies).

Yeah, from my limited understanding if an actor is a “regular” they can’t be a “regular” on another show and can only appear as a guest star one time on another series per season (that’s why Jamie Chung was only in one episode of OUAT last year). So if they were to let her be a guest star on OUAT and she booked another series that got picked up, they’d lose her. I think it helps if the two shows are made by the same studios like Meghan Ory’s was.

If she were only going to be in movies or other guest star roles (which I don’t think she’d do?) though, she could definitely hop back and forth, but that’s probably a scheduling nightmare. The actor who plays Archie works a lot on television and he recurs on OUAT, but I’m sure there are all different types levels and variations in those contracts so who knows.

The point is I would like to see Emilie on my screen more somewhere.

At this point, I’m just used to OUAT not giving a fuck about Belle. I wish they would just release Emilie from her contract when Eddy and Adam don’t actually care about her character in the least.

I know Americana was probably going to be shit, but I’m so disappointed that it never got picked up. Emilie would have been awesome playing the antagonist.

I like Belle a lot (y’know, when the stars align and we get to see her), but I was sad about Americana too. I would have loved to see Emilie as that character.

I know many people hated the Lacey storyline, but if it had been played out and actually mattered at all in the larger story I think she could have been a fun character to see too. For whatever reason, the writers just aren’t that interested in Belle*. It sucks for us Emilie fans, but that’s the way it is.

I don’t think they’re holding Emilie against her will though. They were really supportive of Meghan leaving, so I don’t think they’d make her stay if she wanted to leave or if she wanted to guest star and film a movie next season or whatever.

*I wonder sometimes if it’s because she’s similar to Snow in some ways? Just things they say in interviews about Snow (and now Anna) could also be said about Belle, but Snow gets all those story ideas.
